A number of billboards in Tehran have cropped up with an image of a white peacock standing between two parked vehicles with a catchy tagline: “Stand out, Nissan-style.”

Sponsored by Jahan Novin Aria Company, the official representative of Nissan cars and after-sales services in Iran, the new ads signal that Nissan cars will soon be hitting the streets of Tehran.

According to local automotive website Car Net, the company was established with joint investment by Iran’s Jahangir Aria Group and the Oman-based Suhail Bahwan Group to sell Nissan cars in Iran under the direct license of the Japanese parent company.

On June 26, Financial Tribune wrote that the pre-sales of four Nissan models will start in the second week of July and the cars will be delivered in the fall. This was stated by Jamshid Hosseini, the CEO of Jahan Novin Aria Company.

The four models are the X-Trail, Micra, Juke and Qashqai, which are priced at $22,800 to $58,000.

Hosseini had earlier said the four models are just a start.

“Iranians are fond of Nissan and we hope to bring more models in the future,” he said at the time.
