The price of the much-delayed DongFeng C30 Cross, produced by Iran Khodro, has been announced and some car buyers are going to be in for a shock. The crossover was initially determined to arrive on October 6, but the deadline was pushed back by at least 10 days. In the meantime, IKCO informed customers they will have to pay 520-560 million rials ($14,850-$16,000) for the car. According to local automotive website, Asre Khodro, customers were told initially to pay 230 million rials ($6,570) as a down payment in September. Then, IKCO asked for a further 185 million rials ($5,285) to complete their purchase. In other words, the cars final price would be 415 million rials ($11,855). With a 21% interest rate, the total cost should total 453 million rials ($12,900). However, the company is now asking for an additional 110 million rials ($3,140) to deliver the car. The price hike is likely to ruffle feathers and Iran Khodro may have broken contract law by falsely advertising the lower price of the vehicle initially to customers.
