Iran’s first national auto inspection facility is being established by the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran.“The facility will be launched by the end of the next Iranian year (ending March 20, 2018),” said Peyman Pirayesh, deputy director of ISIRI.According to Persian Khodro, an automotive Persian-language website, the inspection center, will be located on Tehran-Qom Highway in an area of 850 hectares. Since the required technologies and equipment are currently not available in the country, Iranian car manufacturers have to test their products in foreign countries. This makes the procedure expensive and time consuming.In addition to Iranian auto manufacturers, the facility would also be able to cater to the needs of the neighboring countries’ auto industries.
