First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri opened a production line of a new generation of automotive batteries in Robat Karim, a city southwest of Tehran. The production line, which is equipped with latest technologies, was established by researchers at Iran's Ministry of Defense. He also unveiled seven hi-tech military and 19 vehicle and industrial batteries, as well as a CHP power plant. CHP or combined heat and power is the use of a heat engine or power station to generate electricity and useful heat at the same time. In this event, Jahangiri was accompanied by Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan, Industries Minister Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh and Tehran's Governor General Hossein Hashemi. They also showcased bicycle and motorbike batteries, as well as portable battery chargers.
