Morad Majlesi, the director of the newly created ICKOP, a joint venture between PSA Group (Peugeot-Citroen) and Iran Khodro, passed away on June 26. Majlesi was rushed to hospital with severe stomach cramps and died in the operating theater despite the best efforts by doctors, reported Donyaye Khodro. The director of Iran Khodro, Hashem Yekkehzareh, said the company had lost one of its best men and Majlesi had an indefatigable spirit. Prior to joining ICKOP, Majlesi was a senior vice president of Iran Khodro and its technical manager. He was also a board member of several other automotive companies including Bahman Khodro.With his death the fate of the newly signed joint venture hangs in balance as he was one of the key players to get the deal off the ground.
