Persia Khodro, the official firm representing BMW in Iran, introduced the company’s newest X1 model last week in a ceremony held in Tehran. BMW has a large following in Iran, with sales dating back to the 1950s. The latest models are likely to help the company broaden its appeal to the more size-conscious car buyer. The company introduced two models of the car: xDrive 25i and xDrive20i, local automotive website Asre Khodro reported. The vehicles will be priced between 314.9 million and 329.9 million rials ($89,971-$94,257) depending on the features. The sales of X1 have started and the company reports that delivery will start in less than a month. Persia Khodro will also be leasing the cars on 6-24 monthly installments. All new vehicles of the X1 have a limited engine range, as the government stipulates that no cars can be imported with engines larger than 2.5 liters.
