Following negotiations with the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade, an auto manufacturing factory will go on stream in Sahne, said the governor general of Kermanshah province. Sahneh is a city of Kermanshah Province in southwest Iran.
"A total of 30,000 vehicles are expected to be produced at the plant annually," Asadollah Razani also said in a meeting held on Saturday, IRNA reported.
"Long-term plans have targeted 60,000 units per annum. Following talks with Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, the factory will start with the production of Iran Khodro Company's Samand."
Razani noted that other models will be added in future. Reza Rahimi, the province's deputy for economic affairs, who was also present at the meeting, said the inauguration of the factory was initially scheduled for the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2017) and targeted the production of 15,000 units per year.
"However, after several rounds of negotiations, it was decided that production targets should be increased and the inauguration's deadline was moved ahead," he said. The auto plant is under construction in an area of 30 hectares in Sahne Industrial Park, 55 kilometers east of Kermanshah. About 400 billion rials ($11.5 million) have been invested in the project that is expected to directly create jobs for 300 people.
