Turkish passenger car and light commercial vehicle sales rose 15.16% year-on-year to 93,904 vehicles in May.
The organization said sales in the first five months of the year rose 0.3% to 347,277 vehicles and forecast that sales in the full year would amount to 900,000-950,000 vehicles, the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association said on Friday.
Turkey’s automotive industry faced an uneasy 12 months, as the previous month contracted 7.4% in April.
A record 1.01 million vehicles were sold last year in Turkey, which made the country the sixth largest auto market in Europe, after Germany, France, the UK, Italy and Spain.
Iran produced more than 1,024,708 in the previous Iranian year that ended March 20, pegging it against Europe’s major production centers.
