An Iranian bus manufacturing company is attending Busworld Kortrijk, an exhibition of buses and coaches that opened on Friday in the Belgian city.

Oghab Afshan Industrial and Manufacturing Company—producer of Scania buses in Iran—is the only Iranian firm participating in the event, ILNA reported.

Busworld Kortrijk is the largest international exhibition in the industry, bringing together innovative manufacturers and suppliers. It offers them a platform to present their latest products to a global audience.

The event gives special attention to products and enterprises contributing to sustainable ambitions and the improving environmental image of the bus and coach industry.

Special emphasis has been given to sustainability during press conferences, seminars and group visits.

A special green path in the exhibition guides visitors to products and concepts with special relevance to sustainability, reductions in emissions and noise, fuel economy, recyclability and weight reduction.

Started in 1971, Busworld Kortrijk is held every two years in Kortrijk. With over 40 years of experience, it is the oldest and most famous bus and coach exhibition.

In 2001, Busworld International went worldwide and it now has five sister exhibitions covering all continents.

This year, Busworld Kortrijk will run until October 21.
