An investigation into the emissions scandal at the car firm VW should not turn into a campaign against the industry, German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel said on Friday. An investigation into VW, after it was found using software in its cars which falsified emission data, was preferable to an audit, Gabriel was quoted as saying by Reuters.
