Following the news of a billion dollar loan destined to the country’s carmakers, a manager of the Central Bank of Iran has denied it is in charge of loans. Mir-Mohammad Sadeqi also told IRNA, “The CBI does not interfere with the affairs of banks and is not in charge of allocating loans to the country’s industries.” Earlier reports mentioned Iran Khodro and Saipa, the top two domestic car manufacturers, are seeking a $1 billion loan.
