An automotive exhibition on cars and auto parts opened in the northern Iranian province of Gilan on Wednesday. The groundbreaking show in the Caspian Sea region is hosting over 65 pavilions covering an area of 5,500 square meters. The event, according to Donyaye Khodro, is organized by Gilan's Governorate, which was inaugurated by the provincial MP, Mohammad Ali Najafi. The minister said he hoped the event would attract automotive companies to produce in the region, adding that the province is in negotiations with manufacturers to produce hybrid vehicles. He also noted that with the conclusion of the final nuclear deal in Vienna, he hopes the province would become a new national vehicle manufacturing hub due to its access to Caspian Sea littoral countries. The event is the largest of its kind in the province with companies like Iran Khodro, Saipa, Rayen Khodro and Mitsubishi showcasing their new vehicles. Bandar Anzali Free Zone Organization will also be present at the event. The event will run till July 31.
