Honda Jazz Cross Coming to Emerging Markets

Yet to be launched in Iran, the new Honda Jazz hatchback has already been launched in other emerging markets around the world. Now, in one of the markets where the Honda Jazz has been already launched, Brazil, a report has said that they will soon launch a pseudo crossover variant of the same in 2016.

In Brazil, Honda Jazz goes by the name Fit, just like in the US. It is here that the company plans to launch first ever pseudo crossover variant of new Jazz. To be called Honda Fit Twist, Noticias Auto Brazil, revealed this week.

The Honda Jazz Cross’ new exterior features will include skid plates in the front and rear bumper, plastic cladding on all sides, raised ground clearance, roof rails, sportier alloy wheel design, new grille, smoked headlamps, and a raised ground clearance.

Considering that the auto market in Brazil is at a very similar stage of development as of Iran, it is may be possible that the new Honda Fit Twist will also be launched in the Asian market. Currently, Iranian car companies have increased their offerings of small SUVs and have acknowledged this sub-sector as an area of growth. Saipa has already begun offering Chinese made SUVs of different brands and the Honda Jazz Cross would fit into the same segment.

Honda’s presence in the Iranian market has been hardly noticeable in recent years due to sanctions being levied on the country. But now a deal between Iran and the West has been reached, Japanese automakers, who once had a substantial market in Iran, are likely to push for larger sales in 2015-16.
