The government has issued the import permits of 300 double cab pickups with engines over 2.7 liters for the ministry of agriculture, Donyaye Khodro reported on Sunday. Car import tariffs in the new Iranian calendar year (which started March 21) remained unchanged. Based on official data, import tariffs on cars less than 2.5 liters will remain 40 percent for this year. The import of cars with engines larger than 2.5 liters is banned. Since taking office, the Rouhani administration has occasionally granted some import permits for cars over 2.5 liters to some ministries.
