New registrations of cars have been banned since March 18, and will continue until April 30, ISNA reported on Friday. The report notes that registered car importers are obliged to renew their importation certificates annually and must complete the procedure before the end of April, which is the cut-off period. It adds that under current lackluster market conditions new car replacement numbers remain low overall with the market in a long-term recession.
