A total of 699,341 tons of commodities were loaded and unloaded in Khorramshahr Port in the southern province of Khuzestan during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Aug. 22), indicating a 38% rise compared with the corresponding period of last year, the director general of Khorramshahr Ports and Maritime Organization said.
“Loading of cargo amounted to 583,192 tons, registering a 59% growth year-on-year. The port hosted 45,275 trucks and 102 vessels weighing over 1,000 tons during the period, registering a 10% and 51% increase respectively compared with last year’s similar period,” Nourollah Asadi was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
