Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture is planning to launch a business school.
This will be Iran’s first business school in its conventional, standard and academic sense, according to the head of TCCIM Education and Human Resource Expansion Institute.
“Applicants can study in majors, including finance and trade, industrial management, public administration and information technology. We will be offering courses such as accounting, strategic management, economics, entrepreneurship, human resource management, management information systems, international trade, logistics, marketing, industrial-organizational psychology, public relations and research methodology,” Nasser Andalib was also quoted as saying by TCCIM’s news portal.
The official noted that classes will begin from the second semester of the current Iranian year (January 2020).
A memorandum of understanding was signed to launch this business school by TCCIM Chairman Masoud Khansari and Amirkabir University of Technology President Ahmad Motamedi on Aug. 24, IRNA reported.
Classes will be held near Amirkabir University campus.
Amirkabir University of Technology, formerly called the Tehran Polytechnic, is a public research university located in Tehran.
AUT is Iran’s first technical university and referred to as the "Mother of Engineering Universities". Acceptance to the university is competitive and entry into undergraduate and graduate programs requires scoring among the top 1% of students in the nationwide university entrance exams known as "concours".
The university was founded in 1928 as a standard academy and went technological in 1956 with five engineering departments. Six months before the victory of the 1979 Iranian Revolution, Tehran Polytechnic was renamed after the Iranian prime minister, Amir Kabir (1807–52).
AUT has signed agreements with international universities for research and educational collaboration. It is one of the leading universities in e-learning systems launched in 2004.
