Iran Remains 10th Biggest Global Steel Producer

Iranian steel mills produced a total of 14.98 million tons of crude steel during the first seven months of 2019, which indicate a 6.4% rise compared with the corresponding period of 2018, the latest report released by the World Steel Association shows.
The country's July output grew 11.1% year-on-year to hit 2.2 million tons, according to the Brussels-based international trade body for the iron and steel industry.
Iran’s ranking remains unchanged compared to the previous monthly report, as the world’s 10th biggest crude steel producer.
The country is placed between Brazil (ninth) with 19.69 million tons and Italy (11th) with 14.69 million tons, the new report shows.
The world’s 64 steelmakers produced a total of 1.08 billion tons of steel over the seven-month period, up 4.5% YOY.
