SCI Examines Latest Food Price Fluctuations in Iran

The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report, detailing price changes of food products during the Iranian month ending July 22.
The biggest month-on-month price rise was recorded for eggs with 19.3%. A kilogram of eggs was sold at 93,092 rials (77 cents).
The second and third biggest month-on-month price rises during the period under review were registered for potatoes with 17.6% and oranges with 15.2%.
The retail prices of potatoes increased by 380.4% compared with the same period of last year. A kilogram of potatoes were sold at 77,932 rials (65 cents) to register the highest year-on-year price rise for a food item last month.
