Job holders in the healthcare sector, including physicians, paramedics, pharmacists and veterinarians, whose licenses are issued by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Iran Medical Council and Iran Veterinary Organization, need to register for Point of Sale machines with the Iranian National Tax Administration.
They need to file their applications at https://tax.gov.ir by August 14, IRIB News quoted Ali Rostampour, a senior official with INTA, as saying.
The budget law for the current fiscal (2019-20) requires healthcare facilities to pay 10% of the income of their staff physicians in taxes to INTA and physicians should undertake electronic monetary transfers by using POS machine to enhance the transparency of their transactions.
Reports said many physicians have been asking patients to pay in cash to avoid being tracked by income tax authorities.
