Iran’s unemployment rate, the proportion of jobless population of ages 10 years and above, stood at 10.8% in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21), indicating a 1.3% decrease compared with the same period of last year.
A total of 2,956,687 Iranians were unemployed in Q1, the latest report by the Statistical Center of Iran announced.
Men’s unemployment rate stood at 9.2% while it was around 17.3% for women. Over 2.02 million men and 932,881 women of ages 10 and above were jobless in spring.
The unemployment rate was 12% for urban areas (2.44 million people) and 7.3% for rural areas (512,881 people).
