Ilam Province’s goods and services Consumer Price Index registered an increase of 60.3% during the Iranian month ending June 21 compared with the similar month of last year, the highest among all provinces.
The year-on-year CPI increase was the lowest for Qom with 43.3%, the Statistical Center of Iran reported.
The overall goods and services CPI in Iran registered a YOY increase of 50.4% in the same month.
CPI calculated for the country (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 174.9 in the month ending June 21, indicating a 0.8% rise compared with the previous month. The growth in the overall CPI compared with the previous month was the highest (2%) for Gilan and Hormozgan, and lowest (-2.2%) for West Azarbaijan.
The goods and services CPI in the 12-month period ending June 21 increased by 37.6% compared with last year’s corresponding period.
Kurdestan Province saw the highest inflation with 45.1% while Qom posted the lowest inflation of 31.4% during the 12-month period.
Annual inflation gap for all Iranian households among provinces was 13.7% in the month under review, indicating a 1.3% increase compared with the month before.
Urban Households
The overall CPI calculated for urban areas stood at 173.3 during the Iranian month, indicating a 0.8% rise compared with the previous month.
The growth in the overall CPI measured for urban households compared with the previous month was the highest (2.1%) for Ardabil and lowest (-2.2%) for West Azarbaijan.
The index registered an average year-on-year increase of 49.3% for urban areas. Goods and Services Consumer Price Index in the urban areas of South Khorasan registered a year-on-year increase of 59.1% during the month ending June 21, the highest among all provinces. The YOY CPI increase of urban areas was the lowest for Fars and Hormozgan with 41.7%.
The goods and services CPI of urban areas in the 12-month period ending June 21 increased by 36.9% compared with last year’s corresponding period.
Ilam registered the highest 12-month inflation of urban areas with 44% while Hormozgan posted the lowest 12-month inflation of 30.7%. Annual inflation gap among urban areas of provinces was 13.3%, indicating a 0.9% increase compared with the month before.
Rural Households
The overall CPI calculated for rural areas stood at 183.3 in the month ending June 21, indicating a 0.7% rise compared with the previous month.
The growth in overall CPI of rural areas compared with the previous month was the highest (4%) for Hormozgan Province and lowest (-2%) for West Azarbaijan Province.
The index registered an average year-on-year increase of 56.5% for rural areas in the same month. The rural areas of Ilam’s goods and services Consumer Price Index registered a year-on-year increase of 68.3% during the second month of the Iranian year, the highest among all provinces.
The YOY CPI increase of rural areas was the lowest for Kerman with 48.2%.
The goods and services CPI for rural areas in the year ending June 21 increased by 41% compared with last year’s corresponding period.
Kurdestan registered the highest rural inflation with 49.3% while Alborz posted the lowest inflation at 34.2% in the year under review.
The annual inflation gap among rural areas of provinces was 15.1%, indicating a 1.3% increase compared with the month before.
