Air Armenia Launches Yerevan-Tehran Flights

Air Armenia has launched a roundtrip Yerevan-Tehran flights, with the maiden flight taking place on June 15.
The airline offers flights to the Iranian capital on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, but from June 24 the flights will be operated daily, Armen Press reported.
The airline, operating flights with a BAE 146-300 aircraft, is based at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan, Armenia.
Originally founded in 2016, Air Armenia received its first aircraft in 2018.
The flights to Iran are Air Armenia's first scheduled flights after it secured its Air Operator's Certificate from the Armenian General Department of Civil Aviation in July 2018.
The BAE 146-300 aircraft was leased from Romanian carrier Aviro Air in 2018.
Air Armenia wrote on Facebook that a one-way ticket costs from AMD 69,000 dram ($144).
“This is the first time that our airline will operate a flight. We currently have two aircraft but we will use only one for now. It is a 112-seat plane,” Air Armenia CEO Arlen Davudyan told ArmenPress on June 3.
According to ch-aviation fleets’ advanced module, Air Armenia has three aircraft. Its single 28-year-old BAe 146-300, EK14601, msn E3193, was previously operated by Romanian charter carrier Aviro Air. Its two A310-300s, EK31001 (msn 636) and EK31002 (msn 644), were previously operated by Romanian flag carrier Tarom. EK31001 is currently undergoing maintenance at Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport.
Mahan Air already connects Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport and Yerevan, with seven weekly flights.
