Bushehr’s goods and services Consumer Price Index registered an increase of 65.3% during the second Iranian month (April 21-May 21) compared with the similar month of last year, the highest among all Iranian provinces.
The year-on-year CPI increase was the lowest for Hormozgan Province with 43.5%, the Statistical Center of Iran reported.
The overall goods and services CPI in Iran registered a YOY increase of 52.1% in the month.
The overall CPI calculated for the country (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 173.5, indicating a 1.5% rise compared with the previous month. The growth in the overall CPI compared with the previous month (March 21-April 20) was the highest (4.1%) for Ilam and lowest (0.3%) for Hormozgan.
The average goods and services CPI of the country, in the 12-month period ending May 21, increased by 34.2% year-on-year.
Kurdestan saw the highest 12-month inflation with 41% while Qom posted the lowest 12-month inflation of 28.6%.
The annual inflation gap for all Iranian households among provinces was 12.4% in the second Iranian month, indicating a 1.3% increase compared with the month before.
Urban Households
The overall CPI calculated for urban areas stood at 172 during the period, indicating a 1.6% rise compared with the previous month. The growth in overall CPI measured for urban households compared with the previous month was the highest (4.2%) for Sistan-Baluchestan and lowest (0.2%) for Hormozgan.
The index registered an average year-on-year increase of 50.7% for urban areas. Goods and Services Consumer Price Index of the urban areas of Bushehr registered the YOY increase of 64.1% during the month, the highest among all provinces.
Meanwhile, the YOY increase in CPI for urban areas was the lowest for Hormozgan with 42.4%.
The goods and services CPI for urban areas in the 12-month period ending May 21 increased by 33.7% compared with last year’s corresponding period. Ilam registered the highest 12-month inflation of urban areas with 40.3% while Hormozgan posted the lowest 12-month inflation of 27.9%. Annual inflation gap among urban areas of provinces was 12.4% during the period, indicating a 1.4% increase compared with the month before.
Rural Households
The overall CPI calculated for rural areas stood at 181.9 in the second Iranian month, indicating a 1% rise compared with the previous month. The growth in the overall CPI of rural areas compared with the previous month was the highest (5.3%) in Ilam Province and lowest (unchanged) in Hamedan Province.
The index registered an average YOY increase of 59.6% for rural areas. The rural areas of Ilam and Kurdestan’s goods and services Consumer Price Index registered an increase of 70.5% during the second month of the Iranian year, the highest among all provinces.
CPI’s YOY increase for rural areas was the lowest in Hormozgan with 45.9%.
The goods and services CPI for rural areas in the 12-month period ending May 21 increased by 37.1% compared with last year’s corresponding period.
Kurdestan registered the highest 12-month inflation of rural areas with 44.6% while Hormozgan and Alborz posted the lowest 12-month inflation of 30.8%. Annual inflation gap among rural areas of provinces was 13.8% during the period, indicating a 0.4% increase compared with the month before.
