8th Iran-Turkey Transportation Commission Concludes
8th Iran-Turkey Transportation Commission Concludes

The Eighth Iran-Turkey Transportation Commission was held in Tehran on April 28-29. 
Iran’s Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development Shahram Adamnejad and his Turkish counterpart, Selim Dursun, co-chaired the event, the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development reported.
Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami and Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Mehmet Cahit Turhan, as well as heads of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, Saeed Rasouli, and Turkish State Railways, Ali Ihsan Uygun, were present at the two-day commission, the last iteration of which was held in 2012.
The two sides discussed expansion of Iran-Turkey transportation ties, implementation of the previous memoranda of understanding signed between the two neighboring countries and plans for future sessions. 
They also explored ways of boosting mutual freight transportation as well as establishing a passenger railroad from Tehran to Ankara.
