Donya-e-Eqtesad Media Group, the parent company of Financial Tribune, hosted Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Reza Rahmani, along with dignitaries from public and private sectors on Wednesday.
Hailing Donya-e-Eqtesad for providing a platform to facilitate communications and interactions between government officials and industrialists, Rahmani said the ministry has defined seven objectives for the current fiscal year (started March 21).
“Improving domestic production and exploring new markets, focusing attention on the mining sector, facilitating exports, particularly to neighboring countries, encouraging the application of new technologies in industries, boosting commercial logistics, improving the business environment and funding cash-strapped enterprises are the main priorities of the ministry this year,” Rahmani said.
Before the minister's address, Ali Reza Bakhtiari, the publisher and managing director of Donya-e-Eqtesad, reviewed the direction and themes of the media group's upcoming conferences.
Attendees welcomed the topic of how to improve exports despite sanctions imposed on Iran’s economy for this year’s conferences.
They also underscored the importance of covering issues related to shortage of industrial raw materials and the state of mining explorations.
Donya-e-Eqtesad holds four major economic confabs every year, namely the Iranian Monetary Policies Conference and the Iranian Economy Overview Conference, the upcoming editions of which are scheduled for April 29; the fledgling Non-Ferrous Metals Industries Market Conference, the first edition of which was held in October 2018; and the media group’s flagship Iranian Steel Market Conference, the ninth iteration of which was held in January 2019.
