Iran Agrifood Trade Deficit Sees 10% Improvement

Iran recorded an agrifood trade deficit of $2.8 billion in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2018-Jan. 20), which shows a 10.5% improvement year-on-year. 
The figures were announced by the latest report of the National Agriculture and Water Strategic Research Center, which draws on data provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.
More than 5.7 million tons of agricultural and food products worth $5.46 billion were exported from Iran during the 10-month period to register a 1.1% fall in value compared with last year's corresponding period.
