35% Growth in Fars Exports

A total of 307,256 tons of commodities worth $256 million were exported from Iran's southwestern Fars Province during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21,2018-Feb. 20), showing a 49% and 35% increase compared with the similar period of last year.
According to Director General of Fars Customs Offices Khodadad Rahimi, the main export items were dairy products, tomato paste, licorice extract and powder, urea, dates, heat exchangers, cement, tiles and ceramics, wheat flour, carpets and other types of floorings, IRNA reported. 
These products mainly headed to Iraq, Afghanistan, the UAE, Germany, Qatar, Kuwait, India, Pakistan, Turkey and Oman.
About 17,678 tons of products worth more than $91 million were imported into the province from 45 countries over the same period, indicating a 15% decline in volume and a 20% rise in value.
China, Germany, South Korea, the UAE, Turkey, Sweden, Pakistan, Thailand and Poland were the biggest exporters.
Rahimi added that 296,205 passengers left Fars to overseas destinations via the province’s air borders during the same period, of which 199,612 were Iranians and the remaining 96,593 were foreigners.
Moreover, 271,515 passengers entered the province though its air borders, 200,560 of which were Iranians and the rest (70,955) were foreigners.
