In a letter to the industries, mining and trade organizations of the provinces of West Azarbaijan, Kurdestan, Kermanshah, Ilam, Khuzestan, Bushehr, Hormozgan, Sistan-Baluchestan and South Khorasan, the Consumers and Producers Protection Organization has called strengthening control procedures at border checkpoints to prevent the smuggling of Iranian livestock abroad.
The letter noted that following many reports on the continuous rise of meat prices in recent weeks in the domestic market as a result of an increase in outbound livestock smuggling, it is necessary that border crossings be controlled with more vigilance, Mehr News Agency reported.
