Iran exported 5.06 million tons of agricultural and food products worth $4.76 billion during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Dec. 21) to register a 15.3% growth in value compared with last year's corresponding period.
The growth for the nine-month period is a record high compared with the corresponding periods of previous years, according to the latest report released by the National Agriculture and Water Strategic Research Center, which draws on data provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.
Agrifood exports accounted for 5.8% and 14.3% of the total volume and value of Iran's non-oil exports of 86.94 million tons worth $33.35 billion respectively over the period, the news portal of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture reported.
