Iran Signs MoU With Iraq on Aviation Cooperation

Iran and Iraq signed a memorandum of understanding Tuesday on broadening aviation cooperation between the two neighboring nations.

Director of the Public Relations Department of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran Reza Jafarzadeh said under the MoU, the two sides will increase the number of weekly flights between the two countries from 91 to 120, IRNA reported.

He said Iran and Iraq will also cooperate in flight safety and training, inspection by ICAO and air navigation.

According to Jafarzadeh, the MoU was signed by the deputy head of Iran Civil Organization for aviation and international affairs, Morteza Dehqan, and the head of Iraq Aviation Organization, Ali Khalil Ebrahim.

He noted that they also signed two documents for cooperation in air traffic and research and rescue.
