Caretaker of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Anoushiravan Mohseni-Bandpey said a food aid package worth 6 million rials ($43) per household with an income of less than 30 million rials will be distributed in three stages.
“The principles of this package were approved by the Cabinet on Sunday, but complete details of its execution have yet to be finalized.
President Hassan Rouhani has stressed that the first stage of the scheme should be implemented as soon as possible,” IRNA quoted him as saying.
Mohseni-Bandpey earlier told reporters that 11 million needy people have been identified to receive food aid.
