Shahid Rajaee Port Throughput Registers 5 Percent Growth

Close to 6.55 million tons of oil and non-oil products were loaded and unloaded at Shahid Rajaee Port in the southern Hormozgan Province during the first month of the Iranian year (March 21-April 20), showing a 5% increase compared with the corresponding period of last year, the director general of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Organization.
“Out of the total amount, nearly 4.23 million tons were non-oil commodities and the rest were oil products. Container loading and unloading stood at 172,688 TEUs during the one-month period,” Allahmorad Afifipour was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
The official, who doubles as the manager of Shahid Rajaee Special Economic Zone, added that during the same period, 332 vessels docked at the port, 290 of which weighed more than 1,000 tons.
