An Official report from the customs office said the country's red meat import during the first five months of the Iranian year (starting on March 21) has increased at least 250% compared to the similar five-month period last year. During the period, the country imported 42,600 tons of frozen beef worth $221.8 million. The report also said the increase in imports has caused a decline in domestic red meat production.
