Iraqi Health Minister Salih Al-Hasnawi signed on Saturday a memorandum of understanding for health cooperation with his Iranian counterpart Bahram Einollahi.
The memorandum of understanding tackles different issues related to the development of local pharmaceutical industries and the exchange of health expertise, the Iraqi News Agency reported.
On Thursday, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and discussed strategic coordination on regional and international issues.
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement issued on Friday that Hussein met with Abdollahian on the sidelines of their participation in the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, which was held in Azerbaijan Republic from July 5–6.
The Iraqi ministry stressed that the two parties discussed ways of improve bilateral cooperation and strategic coordination in relation to regional and international issues.
The Iranian foreign minister emphasized that relations between Iraq and Iran are strong, expressing appreciation for Iraq’s role in normalizing relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Iranian Economy Minister Ehsan Khandouzi revealed last Wednesday that Iraq has pledged to facilitate Iran’s access to its frozen assets in Iraq.
