SalamAir has announced biweekly direct flights from Sohar Airport to Shiraz Airport in Iran starting from July 5, 2023.
Oman's SalamAir, the fastest growing airline in the Sultanate, has announced a direct flight from Sohar Airport to Shiraz in Iran, one-way, on Wednesdays and Fridays, starting from July 5, 2023, Times of Oman reported.
Shiraz, the capital of Fars Province, is one of Iran's top destinations for health tourism. Foreign tourists visit Shiraz for eye, plastic and other specialized surgeries offered at local hospitals.
“We have seen many Omanis heading to Iran in recent years for various purposes, including medical treatment, trade and pilgrimages,” reads an article published by Oman Observer.
“Today, this country [Iran] has become a pioneer among Islamic countries in the field of medical tourism as a result of the rapid growth of its healthcare system, along with developments in the field of medical research and technology. The depreciation of its national currency has also made healthcare cheaper for foreign patients.”
SalamAir is a low-cost airline of Oman, headquartered and based at the Muscat International Airport.
