A total of 14.34 million tons of livestock feed worth $7 billion were imported to Iran in fiscal 2022-23 (ended March 20), registering a 19% fall in terms of weight, while the value remained unchanged compared with the year before, new data released by Iran Feed Grain Importers’ Union show.
Import of filed corn stood at 8 million tons worth $3.2 billion, registering 17% and 3% decreases in weight and value respectively.
For barley the figures stood at 2.3 million tons worth $990 million to register 29% and less than one percent falls in weight and value respectively.
Soybean meal imports hit 1.3 million tons worth $854 million, registering 43% and 23% falls in weight and value respectively.
A total of 2.5 million tons of soybeans worth $1.9 billion were also imported to register 15% and a 36% decreases in weight and value respectively.
