Kermanshah Province Registers 5% Rise in Export Tonnage

A total of 521,862 tons of goods worth $198.49 million were exported from Kermanshah Province during the first month of the current fiscal year (March 21-Apr. 20), registering a 5% rise in terms of weight compared with the corresponding period of last year, according to Ali Asghar Abbaszadeh, a local customs official.
Rebars and ironware, tiles and ceramics, fruit and vegetable, construction stones, dairy products, different kinds of plastic products and disposable dishes were the main exported products during the period, IRNA reported.
Among the customs terminals of the province, Parvizkhan has the largest share of exports as 202,397 tons worth $82.55 million were exported from this terminal. Khosravi and Sumar are two other local terminals.
Meanwhile, 155 tons of goods worth $2.82 million were imported into the province during the same period, registering a 79% fall in weight, but a 16% rise in value.
The imports mainly included primary reformers, dairy production machinery and diesel generators.
Kermanshah in western Iran shares around 371 kilometers of borders with Iraq’s central government as well as the Kurdestan Region. With six official border terminals and markets, the province accounts for almost half of Iran’s annual non-oil exports to Iraq.
Parvizkhan terminal located in Qasr-e Shirin County shares 186 kilometers of borders with the neighboring country.
