A total of 286,200 tons of goods worth $120 million were exported from Semnan Province in the last Iranian year that ended on March 20, 2023, registering a 2.3% fall in terms of weight, but a 25% rise in value compared with the year before, according to Morteza Hajian-Zadeh, a local official.
A total of 94 manufacturers in the province exported sodium hydroxide, wire and cable, light hydrocarbon, unrefined lead, refined edible oil, swamp cooler, plastic containers, cleansers, aluminum sheet, sulfuric acid, milk powder, edible salt, resin, washing machine, hydrochloric acid, calcium chloride, ceramic and tiles, barite powder and liquid paraffin, IRNA reported.
Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, the UAE, Azerbaijan, Russia, Kuwait, Pakistan, India, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Japan topped the list of export destinations.
The average value of each ton of exported goods stood at $419.
The province registered 30,790 tons of goods worth 125.37 million in imports during the same period, which indicates a 2.3% decrease in weight, but a 103% rise in value.
Auto parts, lead ore, production machinery, parts and components of transformers, ink, metal strip, electric shutter blade, module and silicon sheets and connections were the main products imported during the period.
A total of 29 countries exported goods to the province during the period. China, Germany, the Czech Republic, the UAE and Japan topped the list.
