A total of 13.13 million tons of livestock and poultry feed worth $6.45 billion were imported during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022-Feb. 19), registering a 118% drop in terms of weight, but unchanged in terms of value compared with last year’s corresponding period, new data released by the Iran Feed Grain Importers Union show.
Corn imports stood at 7.5 million tons worth $3 billion to register a 13% decline in weight, but a 2% rise in value, Fars News Agency reported.
Barley imports hit 2 million tons worth $911 million, registering a 28% fall in weight, but a 2% rise in value.
The import of soymeal stood at 1.3 million tons worth $848 million to register a 41% and 32% fall in weight and value respectively.
Soybean imports hit 2.18 million tons worth $1.7 billion, registering a 3% and 22% rise in weight and value respectively.
