The highest annualized inflation in Tehran among construction materials in the third quarter of the current Iranian year (Sept. 22-Dec. 21, 2022) was registered for glass with 76.6%.
The lowest rate was posted for “ironware, rebar, profile for doors, windows and fences” group with 14.6%.
According to the Statistical Center of Iran, the general price index of construction materials for residential properties in Tehran, using 2011 as the base year, grew by 34.7% during the four-quarter period ending Dec. 21, 2022, which marks the end of the third quarter of the current Iranian year, compared with the previous year's corresponding period.
The index rose by 31.6% in Q3 compared with last year's corresponding quarter (year-on-year).
Glass also witnessed the highest year-on-year inflation with 63.9% as “ironware, rebar, profile for doors, windows and fences” category witnessed the lowest with 15.2% year-on-year increase.
According to SCI, the average price of each square meter of residential floor area in urban areas of Iran in Q3 stood at 117.62 million rials ($245), with minimum and maximum rates at 1.12 million rials ($2.3) and 2.79 billion rials ($8,800) respectively.
The average price rose by 31.4% during the period on a year-on-year basis.
In terms of residential deals, Q3 saw a rise of 43.2% compared with the Q3 of the year before. 
SCI put the average dealt floor area in Q3 at 109 square meters while the average age of residential units was at 12 years.
