A total of 243,000 tons of goods worth 97.57 million were exported from Semnan Province during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022-Jan. 20), registering a 3% fall in terms of weight, but a 23% rise in value compared with last year’s corresponding period, according to Ali Sadeddin, a local customs official.
The exported goods included sodium hydroxide, wire and cable, light hydrocarbon, unrefined lead, refined edible oil, swamp coolers, plastic kitchenware, detergent, aluminum sheet, sulfuric acid, milk powder, salt, resin, washing machines, hydrochloric acid, perchlorate, calcium chloride, ceramic and tile, barite powder and liquid paraffin.
Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, the UAE, Azerbaijan, Russia, Kuwait, Pakistan, India, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Japan were the main destinations among the 32 importers of goods from Semnan during the period, IRNA reported.
The official noted that the average value of each ton of exported goods stood at $400, registering a 27% year-on-year rise.
Sadeddin added that 22,970 tons of goods worth $76.63 million were imported into the province during the same period.
The imports mainly included auto parts, lead soil, production machinery, components and parts of transformers, color ink, insulator, metal strip, electric shutter blade, silicon module and sheet.
Turkey, China, Germany, the Czech Republic, the UAE and Japan were the main exporters to Semnan among 22 countries that shipped goods to the province during the period.
