Throughput of Bushehr Province’s Six Ports Increases by 17 Percent

A total of 49.69 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded at Bushehr Province’s six ports during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022-Jan. 20), registering a 17% rise compared with the similar period of last year, according to a local official.
"Non-oil and oil goods accounted for 8.49 million tons and 41.19 million tons of the total throughput respectively," Mohammad Shakibi-Nasab was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
Container unloading and loading stood at 192,974 TEUs.
The official noted that during the period under review, a total of 6,384 vessels berthed at the province’s ports.
Bushehr Province has a 937-kilometer coastline alongside the Persian Gulf. Bushehr, Asalouyeh, Kangan, Genaveh, Dayyer and Deylam in this province have one port each.
Bushehr Port, the main port facility in the province, has the capacity to handle more than 7 million tons of goods per year and can host vessels weighing over 30,000 tons.
The port is capable of offering services for bulk, containerized, general and petrochemical cargos, refrigerated products, raw materials, storage and processing of various commodities and passengers, according to the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran.
