A total of 29,000 tons of aquatic feed worth $21 million were exported from Iran during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Dec. 21), according to Majid Jafari, CEO of Livestock Feed Cooperatives Union.
The exports stood at 28,000 tons worth $11 million in the last Iranian year (March 2021-22).
Iraq, Armenia and Uzbekistan are the main destinations of Iran’s aquatic feed exports.
The Seventh International Conference and Exhibition of Iran's Livestock, Poultry and Aquatic Feed (aka FeedExpo) opened in Tehran on Jan. 10.
“Some 80 companies are showcasing their related products and services at the event, including some 14 foreign companies,” said Mehdi Masoudi, secretary of the Agriculture and Food Industry Commission of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture.
“Foreign experts, including from New Zealand and the UK, are also participating in this exhibition,” he added.
