A total of 9.91 million tons of livestock feed were imported into Iran during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Dec. 21), registering a 26% fall compared with last year’s similar period when more than 13.37 million tons were imported, new data released by the Importers of Livestock and Poultry Feed Union of Iran show.
This year’s imports include 6.04 million tons of corn, 1.27 million tons of barley, 1.85 million tons of soybean and 734,532 tons of soymeal, registering a 12%, 52%, 1% and 63% decline respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year, Mehr News Agency reported.
