A total of 1.24 million tons of goods worth $613.29 million were exported from Kurdestan Province’s border terminals in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Dec. 21), registering a 22% rise in both weight and value, compared with the similar period of last year, according to a local customs official.
“The exports mainly included fruit and vegetable, construction materials, iron ore and dairy products,” Khalil Heydari was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
Imports to Kurdestan, he added, stood at 29,193 tons worth $71.5 million during the same period.
Kurdestan has three official border terminals in Sanandaj, the provincial capital, Bashmaq in Marivan Country and Siraband in Baneh County.
The lion’s share of Kurdestan’s foreign trade passes through Bashmaq.
