Iran traded 393,990 tons of goods (excluding crude oil exports) worth $432.97 million with Latin American countries during the first eight months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Nov. 21), registering a 66.03% and 40.95% fall in terms of weight and value respectively compared to the corresponding period of last year, latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.
Iran exported goods to only 11 Latin American countries and imported from 10 of 33 Latin American countries during the period.
Trade with Brazil stood at 324,664 tons (down 65.02%) worth over $317.81 million (down 21.49%), for the Latin American country to top the list of Iran’s partners in the region. It was followed by Argentina with 49,028 tons (down 76.32%) worth $84.71 million (down 70.49%) and Venezuela with 16,713 tons (down 4.08%) worth $13.88 million (down 57.3%).
