$25m Worth of Paint, Resin Exported in Eight Months

A total of 7,291 tons of paint and resin worth $25.77 million were exported from Iran during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Nov. 21), registering a rise of 17% and 9.5% in tonnage and value respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year, according to the spokesperson of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.
“Iraq, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkmenistan were the main destinations,” Morteza Emadi was quoted as saying by IRIB News.
He added that imports of paint and resin stood at 2,858 tons worth $18.42 million during the same period, showing a 3% decline in weight but a 21% rise in value compared with the similar period of last year. 
The UAE, South Korea, China and Germany were the main exporters.
The 22nd International Paint, Resin, Coatings, Composites and Plating Industries Fair Expo (IPCC 2022) was held in Tehran from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 with the aim of increasing export.
More than 260 companies active in the chemical and paint industries, and producers of different kinds of glue, paint, coating resins and electroplating participated in the largest event of paint and industrial coating industries in Iran.
According to Neda Ataei, a former official with the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, more than 1,000 paint production units are active in Iran and the nominal production capacity of the industry is around 12 million tons per year.
