Bushehr Province Exports Earn $7.4 Billion in H1

Exports from Bushehr Province reached 14.36 million tons worth $7.48 billion during the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21-Sept. 22), registering a 7% and 62% rise in weight and value respectively compared with the similar period of last year, according to a local customs official.
“Our main exported products included petrochemicals, mineral products, different kinds of seafood, fruit and vegetable which mainly headed to China, the UAE, India, South Africa, Turkey, Sudan, Nigeria, Mozambique, Pakistan and Thailand,” Ali Soleymani was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
He added that more than 318,000 tons of goods worth $934 million were imported into the province during the same period, registering a 36% and 65% growth in tonnage and value respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year.
Soleymani said nuclear plant equipment and parts, different kinds of textile, LED modules, tea, motorcycle and bicycle spare parts, tires, automobile spare parts, ball bearings, roller bearings and rice were the main imports. 
China, Russia, the UAE, India, the Philippines, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Japan were the main exporters.
Bushehr is a southern Iranian province that has a 937-kilometer coastline alongside the Persian Gulf.
The port of Bushehr has the capacity to handle more than 7 million tons of goods per year and can host vessels weighing over 30,000 tons.
