Poultry Output Exceed 2m Tons in Fiscal 2021-22

A total of 2.15 million tons of poultry meat were produced in Iran’s official slaughterhouses in the fiscal 2021-22 (ended March 21).
Chicken production stood at 2.1 million tons during the year, accounting for 97.6% of the total output.
According to the Statistical Center of Iran, Golestan Province had the highest volume of chicken meat production with 228,000 tons.
Other types of poultry produced during the period, including turkey, quail, ostrich and partridge, reached 52,000 tons and accounted for 2.4% of the total poultry meat production.
Isfahan Province with 8,423 tons of turkey meat, Yazd Province with 1,087 tons of quail meat, West Azarbaijan Province with 644 tons of ostrich meat and Alborz Province with 7,101 tons of different kinds of other poultry meats (egg-laying and broiler chicken and partridge) were the top producers of other kinds of meat in the year.
